How to update from the old CodeCanyon version
Use this guide if you purchased WP Cost Estimation on CodeCanyon and want to move an existing WordPress site to the current official version.
The update is mainly a plugin-file replacement workflow, but production sites deserve a careful backup and staging check before files are changed.
2. Back up the site first
Create a full backup of the WordPress files and database before replacing plugin files. This matters because forms, submissions, settings and orders are stored in the WordPress database.
3. Test on staging when the site is important
Use a staging copy first for client sites, high-traffic sites, payment forms, booking workflows or any form that affects revenue.
4. Replace or update the plugin files
Install the current official version from the official purchase or account flow. Avoid downloading plugin files from mirrors or old marketplace copies.
5. Check forms, submissions and payments
Existing forms and submissions should be preserved, but verify the forms list, front-end rendering, conditional logic, calculations, emails, PDFs and payment steps before publishing changes.
